Attorney Lorraine Birabil has made exceptional contributions to the practice of law and her community over the years. She has served in various capacities at the federal, state, and local levels of government, helping to shape legislation and policy.
Her experience includes public service, youth mentoring, and, most recently, assisting individuals and businesses in resolving important legal matters.
Lorraine has worked with businesses of varying sizes ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies to help them navigate challenging situations, solidify their legal footing, and position them to win.
She has also played an important role in major election law litigation efforts for more than a decade. Her passion and service led to a court-ordered Texas redistricting map and prevented the State of Texas from implementing Voter ID as drafted. She also helped to organize voter protection efforts and trained other attorneys in election law.
Lorraine has been a tireless advocate on the issues that matter most. During her service as a state legislator, she played a critical role in healthcare, education, economic opportunity, and justice reform. In the midst of the pandemic, Lorraine continued to push for reforms to better aid her constituents.
Throughout the community, Lorraine has mentored young people interested in public service. She has been appointed and served on the Citizen Election Advisory Committee in Dallas. Today she serves as a Member of the Board of Directors on Annie’s List, a civil rights and social action organization.
Lorraine has earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, minoring in Chemistry, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Texas. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas A&M University School of Law with an Intellectual Property Concentration.
After earning her law degree, Lorraine served as an associate at a complex litigation firm. She left to found the Elaine Law Group, PLLC, where she continues to serve her community and clients with dedication.
